Islamabad:
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs reaffirmed its position according to which any misadventure of India has encountered a “robust posture” of Pakistan, stressing the confidence of the country in its defense capacities.
“Regarding any mishap of India, our posture remains very robust. We are confident in our defense capacities, and we hope that India sees reason. However, if an attack or an assault occurs against Pakistan, we are ready to defend ourselves,” said the spokesman for the Foreign Affairs Office, Shafqat Ali Khan on Thursday.
He stressed that Pakistan is ready to respond to any assault on India, stressing the recent demonstration of military capacity in the Marka-e-Haq, and expressed the hope that India would recognize the futility of its aggressive position, warning that such hegemonic pulses would not lead anywhere.
“We are convinced of our capacities, and we have demonstrated it in the recent Marka-E-Haq, who should be obvious to everyone. The essential is that we remain ready, and we hope that India will see that the Bellicosity and Hegemonic pulses will not move it anywhere,” said Khan.
Reiterating Pakistan’s invitation to India for dialogue, he said: “We therefore hope that reason prevails and that they can see that the path of diplomacy can lead to a win-win situation between the two countries. However, he stressed that the decision to engage in talks rests with India.
In the situation in Syria, Khan reiterated the full support of Pakistan to the sovereignty, independence and territorial integrity of the country, calling on the international community to intervene and to stop the actions of Israel which undermine peace in the region.
“Pakistan is in full solidarity with the fraternal people of Syria and reaffirms its strong support for peace and lasting stability in the country and in the region,” said the spokesperson.
