“At a time defined by transnational threats and complex hybrid challenges, deeper military cooperation, strategic dialogue and mutual trust are imperative. Pakistan remains determined to work with partner countries for a safe and prosperous region,” said COAS.

Participating defense leaders have made detailed discussions on the dynamics of regional security, cooperation against terrorism, the evolution of strategic trends in Central and South Asia and coordinated humanitarian responses during crises.

The delegates also expressed a shared determination to maintain peace, respect national sovereignty and face common threats, in particular terrorism, cyber-insecurity and violent extremism.

The participants congratulated the leadership and hospitality of Pakistan, qualifying the conference an important step in promoting inclusive and prospective defense diplomacy.

The event highlighted the continuous role of Pakistan as a key director in the formation of a secure, interconnected and cooperative regional security environment, anchored in mutual interests and regional solidarity.

Development is considered another sign of the growing profile of Pakistan to regional and international fronts.

Observers believe that Pakistan seems to be playing its cards well because it is currently engaging with all the great powers and other regional players.

The army chief was in Beijing earlier this week when he held a series of meetings with the best Chinese civilian and military leaders. Meanwhile, the Minister of Foreign Affairs Ishaq Dar on Friday held a meeting with US Secretary of State Marco Rubio in Washington, highlighting the diplomatic success of Pakistan.

Secretary Rubio appreciated Pakistan’s continuous efforts to seek mediation between the United States and Iran while welcoming Islamabad for preserving regional stability.

The Minister of Foreign Affairs, DAR, later told the Atlantic Council that Pakistan wanted to play a bridge role between the United States and China. He recalled that Pakistan in the past has brought these two powers closer and was ready to play this role again.
