Speaking during the political dialogue of Pakistan SDG for the action in Islamabad, he warned that the country ranks the lowest in Southern Asia in terms of progress by SDGs.

Currently, Pakistan is at 137th in 166 countries in the SDG index 2024, with a score of only 57.02, significantly behind regional neighbors such as India (63.99), Bangladesh (64.35) and Sri Lanka (67.43).
