Islamabad:
Pakistan obtained its very first gold medal in the prestigious Olympiad of international science.
Abdul Raffay Paracha won the gold medal for Pakistan during the 35th International Biology Olympiad held in the Philippines.
Pakistan has participated in the International Olympiad of Physics since 2001, the International Olympiad of Mathematics since 2005 and in the Olympiads of Biology and Chemistry since 2006.
More than 380 students represented Pakistan in the Olympiads of international sciences, obtaining 140 medals, while more than 4,500 students received training in more than 240 training camps organized in HEC institutes.
