A high -level Pakistani delegation, led by the former Minister of Foreign Affairs and President of the Pakistani peoples Bilawal Bhutto Zardari party, will meet the representatives of the 15 Member States of the UN Security Council, including the five permanent members, today, News reported.
The parliamentary delegation of nine members is currently in New York to meet meetings with the Secretary General of the United Nations António Guterres, president of the United Nations General Assembly, and ambassadors of permanent and non -permanent members of the Security Council.

The visit comes in the middle of the renewed tensions between Islamabad and New Delhi, which prompted Pakistan to intensify its diplomatic awareness on the international scene.
Bilawal, accompanied by senator Sherry Rehman, arrived in New York before the scheduled meetings.
The rest of the delegation, notably Hina Rabbani Khar, Dr Musadik Malik, Khurram Dastgir Khan, Bushra Anjum Butt, Tehmina Janjua and Jalil Abbas Jilani should arrive in phases.
According to sources, the Committee led by Bilawal will meet members of the US administration, Congress, Reflection Groups and the Media to inform them of the position of Pakistan concerning the climbing of tensions with India.

The delegation aims to underline what it calls the deep causes of the potential conflict of Pakistan-India and to raise concerns concerning the disinformation campaigns of India and the operations influenced abroad targeting Pakistan.
The Committee will also meet the United Nations Secretary General António Guterres in New York, followed by senior officials from the Trump administration in Washington.
A key objective will be the implications of any disruption of the Industry Water Treaty and its potential impact on regional security. “The parliamentary team will communicate how India’s provocations and disinformation threaten regional peace,” said a familiar source with the visit.

The delegation should stay in the United States until June 9, after which it will go to the United Kingdom, then continue to various European countries. The eminent members of the delegation include the former foreign minister Hina Rabbani Khar, the former envoy Jalil Abbas Jilani, Khurram Dastgir and Musadik Malik.
After the ceasefire with India, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif appointed Bilawal to lead a high-level delegation responsible for presenting the Pakistan for Peace ” on recent Indian aggression to the international community.
The Committee will engage with the leaders and global institutions to raise awareness of India’s actions and the concerns of Pakistan concerning the Industry Water Treaty. The government has also planned to send additional delegations to other countries in the context of broader diplomatic awareness.
