Pakistani scientists have developed a new breed of chicken capable of laying more than 200 eggs per year, marking a major breakthrough for the rural culture of poultry.
The new breed, named Uni-Gold, was developed by researchers from the University of Agriculture Faisalabad (UAF). It is designed to thrive in the rural environments of Pakistan and support extreme temperatures, in particular intense heat.
One of the most distinctive characteristics of Uni-Gold is its ability to produce three times more eggs than a traditional desi, although it requires far fewer food. This makes it an attractive option for small farmers looking for efficiency and sustainability.
According to UAF experts, the breed could change the situation for the cultivation of rural poultry, helping to respond to requests for eggs and meat in poorly served areas.
The university has announced its intention to distribute the race on a national scale, aimed at stimulating local production of eggs and strengthening rural savings.
Nature with a low interview with Uni-Gold also has a viable opportunity for rural women to generate income, because it requires a minimum of resources and care
