Islamabad:
The Senatorial Committee on Water Resources on Water Resources has expressed serious concerns concerning the lack of details concerning encroachments along the riversides and the navigable ways.
The officials informed the committee that, according to the data provided by Suparco, the main encroachments in Punjab had not been deleted after August 2024. A report submitted by Suparco in February 2025 identified 153 encroachments in the Sargodha irrigation area and 676 in the Mulan irrigation area.
An FFC representative said that all the encroachments had been authorized before August 2024 but had not provided data to support this assertion.
