Season 1 followed Secret Service agent Xavier Collins (Sterling K. Brown) as he tried to determine who killed the president after a shock murder in the very first episode. Oh, and it turns out they’re all living in an underground bunker owned by billions while an apocalyptic event has occurred on the surface of the Earth.

Heaven season 2 was officially renewed on February 10, 2025 and, in real Heaven fashion, the star of the show, Sterling K. Brown, revealed the news on the palm of his hand.
And while there’s no release date yet, series creator Dan Fogelman told Deadline that there is a potential release. window comparing it to season 1: “So if we release in early 2025, hopefully the next season will release in early 2026.”
And it looks like the cast and crew have officially wrapped filming, with Sterling K. Brown taking to his personal Instagram to show off the last day of filming in late August.
In the clip, he says, “We’re trying to give you something just as good, if not better, the second time around.” Added caption: “Trust that you are not prepared for what is to come.”

What we do know is that the first official trailer for Season 1 was released in November, ahead of the series premiere in January 2025.

In season 1, although he died in the first episode, he appeared throughout the series in a series of flashbacks. And, speaking to Vanity Fair, he could return, perhaps in a bigger role: “I’m not sure what I’m allowed to say. Although my vague answer to your question is probably the answer to your question.”
And after the success of the series, he adds: “…I got a text from Dan saying, ‘Well, maybe you’re not dead’. I don’t want to give false hope here that I’m alive, but maybe we can find a solution.”
