It was supposed to be a day where the New England Patriots were focused exclusively on beating the Buffalo Bills and winning the AFC East division, but tragedy has seeped into the picture and the franchise isn’t going to ignore what’s happening in the rest of the world.
A Patriots spokesperson told OutKick the club will observe a moment of silence to recognize the “horrible events” that occurred at Brown University on Saturday and in Bondi Beach, Australia on Sunday, before kickoff of the game against the Buffalo Bills.

Brown University in Rhode Island is less than 30 miles from where the Patriots practice and play in Foxborough, Massachusetts. It was the scene of a mass shooting in which several people were killed and several others injured in a mass shooting inside a classroom.
The Bills, who face the Patriots in today’s game at 1 p.m., were actually in Providence, Rhode Island, when the mass shooting took place.
No one in Buffalo’s group was injured and the team kept everyone from its traveling group in the team hotel as a precaution.

The Patriots will also recognize Sunday’s mass shooting at the Hanukkah festival at Bondi Beach in Australia.
Australian authorities describe this attack as “terrorism” targeting Jews, particularly women and children. At least 12 people were killed and at least 28 others were hospitalized when two gunmen opened fire on the crowd from an elevated position.
This shooting is the worst attack against Jews since the Hamas terrorist attacks in Israel on October 7, 2023.
Robert Kraft spoke out

And this is felt within the Patriots community, since the club’s owner, Robert Kraft, very publicly supports Jewish causes.
Kraft founded the Blue Square Alliance Against Hate, which monitors, among other things, the steady rise of anti-Semitism in the United States and around the world.
Kraft spoke exclusively to OutKick and FOXNews last month about Blue Square and also raised concerns about the election of Zohran Mamdani as mayor of New York.
