- Majority unveils the D50X bookshelf speakers…
- …and automatic turntable
- Affordable, colorful and in time for Record Store Day
If the high cost of a vinyl-ready stereo is putting you off the hobby, then Majority’s new release might change your mind (as will our audio editor’s roundup of four two-product wireless vinyl setups), and it’s here just in time for Record Store Day on April 18.
The brand has revealed two new offerings, which are currently on sale at various UK retailers (US and Australian availability TBC, but unlikely).
First up, there’s the Majority D50X, a pair of bookshelf speakers available in red, green, white or black. They produce 60W with a range of connection options and cost £69.95 (around $100 / AU$140).

Then there’s the Majority Auto, a Bluetooth automatic turntable priced at £129.95. It features a built-in phono preamp, automatic tonearm and belt drive, as well as auxiliary and line out outputs as well as Bluetooth. This seems like perfect RSD preparation to me…
As you can tell from the price, none of these devices are aimed at the very picky audiophile for whom money is no object, especially since Bluetooth is the name of the game. But they are an affordable way for the average buyer to get an easy-to-use vinyl setup.
Incoming Record Store Day
Record Store Day is a UK institution, when independent record stores across the UK and Ireland team up to offer promotions to celebrate the vinyl format.
This year it falls on April 18 and organizers have already shared a list of exclusive releases sold on that day.
Naturally, people who don’t own a turntable are left out of the celebrations, and with many of the best record players costing a pretty penny (not to mention decent speakers cost more), people who don’t have a high budget might feel left out.
Luckily, there are some budget-friendly turntables available, and this new Majority bundle will be a perfect way to get in on the Record Store Day fun without breaking the bank.
