Lionesses powerhouse Lucy Bronze has revealed she has already presented Prince William with a custom-made England jersey for Princess Charlotte with the young royal’s name printed on the back.
Charlotte, already known for her appearances on the pitch and her growing love of the beautiful game, might just have her own Lionesses kit hidden away thanks to Bronze and her teammates.
Speaking about his first meeting with William in 2015, Bronze shared that the future King had long been an avid supporter of the team, regularly visiting the team before major tournaments to wish them good luck.
Bronze even suggested that seeing Charlotte one day pull on an England jersey for real would be “amazing”.
Of course, William’s football fandom isn’t limited to English women.
The Prince of Wales is famous for Aston Villa, traveling across Europe last season, including to Monaco and Paris to cheer on the Birmingham side on their Champions League run.
On one occasion, he brought Prince George to watch Villa face Paris Saint-Germain FC, a move hailed by commentators as a clever blend of father-son bonding and modern royal optics.
In 2023, William was criticized for staying at home during the Lionesses’ historic Women’s World Cup final in Australia.
On the eve of the final, William appeared in a video message alongside Charlotte, sending her his support and apologizing for not being there in person.
The cheerful “Good luck, Lionesses!” » quickly stole the show.
