Joey Chestnut was not the only big name in Coney Island for the Nathan Hot-Dogs restoration competition.
Friday, the people for the ethical treatment of animals (PETA) made known their presence outside the basic food of CONEY Island before Chestnut goes on stage.
Members of the organization distributed vegan hot dogs to people along the promenade, as are hundreds of Nathan francs were prepared for competitive eaters.

Before the event, Peta told PK Press Club Digital that “Tommy Tofu and his friends Peta will be there during the famous Hot-Dogs restoration competition in Nathan, distributing hundreds of tasty vegan hot dogs as they challenge hungry spectators to enjoy a free and tasty fourth that is also suitable for animals.”
“The vegan hot dogs are delicious and kind, and who really wants to support the slaughterhouses – the word is sufficient – by buying what comes out,” said PETA manager, Tracy Reiman, in a press release. “Peta encourages everyone to let freedom ring all by leaving animals in peace this July 4 and beyond.”

Joey Chestnut recovers the title of the Hot-Dogs restoration competition after last year’s absence by lowering 70.5 Franks
Chestnut returned to competition after having disappeared last year due to a partnership with a plant -based brand, Impossible Foods.
