Petrol price could increase by Rs5/litre

ISLAMABAD:

The government is preparing to impose an additional burden on citizens affected by inflation, as a significant increase in the prices of petroleum products is expected from March 1.

According to government sources, the Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (OGRA) has completed its price calculations and the prices of petroleum products are expected to increase up to Rs 6.88 per liter from March 1.

Sources said the price of petrol is likely to increase by Rs 4.58 per liter, while that of high-speed diesel may increase by Rs 4.73 per litre.

They further said that the price of kerosene is likely to increase by Rs 6.88 per litre, and that of light diesel may see an increase of Rs 5 per litre.
