PGA Tour commissioner Jay Monahan told TPC Sawgrass on Tuesday that President Donald Trump had been “the facilitator” between the PGA and the LIV golf in order to possibly conclude an agreement.
On June 6 will mark two years since the announcement of the bomb according to which the two parties discussed a kind of agreement to meet to a certain extent, but the talks have long blocked-that is to say until Trump takes up his duties.
Last month, the tour credited Trump for “[getting] Involved for the good of the game, “and it seems that there has been movement since he got involved.

“These discussions are real. They are substantial, and they are led to the main levels of the two organizations. These talks have been considerably strengthened by the will of President Trump to serve as a facilitator,” Monahan said on Tuesday. “President Trump is a golf fan for life. He firmly believes in the power and potential of the game, and he was extremely generous in his time and his influence to help conclude an agreement. He wants to see the game in reunification. We want to see the game together and his involvement has made the prospect of the reunification very real.”
Monahan added: “We believe that there is room to integrate important aspects of LIV golf in the PGA Tour platform”, and he could consider “a future” in which the governor of the public investment fund Yasir al-Rumayyan can join the board of directors.
“We do everything we can to bring both parties together.

Trump last month expressed the optimism that the two parties will get some Type of transaction concluded.
“They will have to meet,” he said. “They had a lot of discussion in both directions. They are both good, and an agreement will finally happen. I think it will happen fairly quickly. It would be good to see the best golfers playing against each other.”
“These are all great people and they want to work,” added Trump. “So, if I can help resolve it … I don’t get anything out of it. I can help them solve it. I just think golf – it’s an individual sport, and you want to see the best players play against each other and not play in two different places.”
