PHC orders responses following ‘disappearances’ in Peshawar and Mardan

The Peshawar High Court on Saturday issued written orders on the petitions to trace the missing persons from Peshawar and Mardan.

Justice PHC SM Atiq Shah passed the orders on the writ petitions.

According to the court, five people went missing from the jurisdiction of Khazana police station in Peshawar. The missing persons were identified as Muhammad Abrar, Muhammad Sohail, Muhammad Farshid, Muhammad Zubair and Muhammad Khurshid.

The court noted that allegations regarding the disappearance of the five men were leveled against the Station House Officer (SHO) of Khazana police station. SHO Khazana has been directed to submit a report within seven days.

In another case, the disappearance of Payo Khan from the confines of Mathra police station was alleged against the Anti-Terrorism Department (CTD), Peshawar.

The SHO CTD Peshawar and SHO of Mathra police station have been asked to submit responses within seven days.

In another case, the disappearance of Kashif Usman from Mardan was alleged against CTD Mardan. The CTD Mardan official and the SHO of the police station concerned have also been ordered to submit replies within seven days.
