Islamabad:
The administration of short of money decided to give an increase in salary to its around 7,000 employees for the increase in inflation.
According to a press release, the PIA board of directors approved in principle on Friday to give an increase in executives to the employees of airlines in proportion to inflation.
Employees had obtained their last salary increase four years ago and faced financial problems due to a sharp increase in inflation.
The PIA spokesperson noted that the total number of employees of the national flag carrier is now less than 7,000 and that the number of employees decreases rapidly.
