Karachi:
The wheel of the landing gear that disappeared when taking off a PIA plane to Lahore was finally located in a remote corner of Karachi airport.
According to the PAA, the missing wheel was found near the distant parking bay of Jinnah International Airport, near the Hangar Chundrigar II.
The wheel workshop technicians spotted the Airbus A320 wheel located near the landing train of a Boeing 777 at the Earth. The PAA has confirmed that there is no evidence of victims or financial damage resulting from the detachment of the wheel.
The surveys revealed that the wheel detached during take -off, but the problem is not reported until the plane landed in Lahore, which raises serious concerns about air safety standards.
Aviation Authority and the PIA engineering team conduct a complete survey to prevent such incidents in the future.
The first reports suggest that the possible reasons behind the detachment of this critical component could include deficiencies in maintenance procedures, manufacturing defects and material fatigue.
Given the strict storage requirements for aircraft spare parts – where factors such as the temperature and integrity of the materials are closely monitored – this incident caused a more in -depth examination.
Airbus, the aircraft manufacturer, contacted the PIA and launched a detailed technical investigation into the issue.
He asked for a full incident report, including flight data records of the last three months, control lists and maintenance history and a complete assessment of the landing gear and other critical systems.
