Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) imposed a prohibition on unauthorized photography and videography during planes maintenance operations, citing security and confidentiality problems.
In a release published, the airline said that it had observed people taking photos and videos without approval during maintenance activities.
“This is a serious violation of confidentiality and presents significant security risks,” said PIA spokesperson.
To maintain high levels of security and intimacy, the airline said that only authorized staff – such as plane engineers or members of the designated security team – can take visual registers during these operations.
All the other people, including the ground handling agents (GHAS) and the staff of airline operators, are strictly prohibited from taking photos or videos.
PIA warned that any violation of the directive would lead to strict administrative and disciplinary measures.
