PIA flights to UAE, Bahrain, Doha and Kuwait temporarily suspended, flights to Saudi Arabia will continue
Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) has suspended flight operations to several Gulf destinations due to the developing situation in the Middle East, an airline spokesperson said on Saturday.
The move came after the United States and Israel jointly launched strikes against Iran, pushing the Middle East into a new military confrontation and further dimming hopes for a diplomatic solution to the West’s long-standing efforts to denuclearize Iran, despite Tehran’s repeated assertions that it would not seek nuclear weapons.
In response, Iran targeted Israel and US bases in the Middle East. Explosions were reported in Kuwait, the United Arab Emirates, Bahrain and Qatar.
According to the spokesperson, PIA flights to the UAE, Bahrain, Doha and Kuwait have been temporarily suspended. Flights will remain inoperative at least until Sunday evening or until normal airspace operations are restored.

However, the national airline’s flights to Saudi Arabia will continue, although their routes have been revised in light of the current circumstances.
The spokesperson further said that the affected flights have been transferred to Boeing 777 aircraft and will take longer routes to ensure the safety of passengers.
Passengers are advised to stay in touch with the airline for timely updates regarding their flights and any changes in bookings. The airline’s call center can be reached at 021-111-786-786 for assistance.
PIA management reiterated that the safety of passengers and crew remains its top priority.
