Pide plans to stimulate farmers’ gains

Islamabad:

The Pakistan Institute of Development Economics (Pide) has published a revolutionary policy plan entitled “Towards a free market: a BluePrint for Wheat Sector Deregulation”, written by Dr Muhammad Faisal Ali and Dr Sobia Rose.

Published as a point of view of the policy, the document requires the complete and structured deregulation of the Pakistan wheat sector, arguing that the long-standing policy of the MSP has not stabilized the markets, protecting farmers or ensuring the well-being of consumers.
