The 20 -year -old man who fell on a wall and crashed on the ground at PNC Park in Pittsburgh is “awake and alert”, according to a GoFundme page, collecting funds for his medical invoices.
Kavan Markwood, a former university football player, was identified as man which fell to more than 20 feet on the warning track of the right field.
Markwood returned the wall balustrade and came across the field in a match between the pirates and the Chicago Cubs.

The GoFundme was created earlier this week and its organizer provided the positive update on Markwood.
“We are so relieved and grateful to share encouraging news on Kavan. Since this morning, Kavan has been awake, alert and capable of speaking,” wrote Jennifer Phillips. “After all that he has experienced since the accident on Wednesday evening, this progress feels nothing less than miraculous.
“He still has a long journey in front of him, but today brought a moment of hope that we have all kept ourselves. Thank you all a lot for your prayers, your support and your generosity. Please continue to keep it in your thoughts while it starts the next recovery phase.”
The game immediately stopped while the medical staff sprout on the outside to find an immobile shirt markwood on the dirt of the warning track with visible blood on his face. The coaches of the two teams joined EMS to put it in a cart and out of the field.

The referee cursed on the hot micro after the missing call
The pirate star Andrew McCutchen struck a double of two points to put the 4-3 team at the end of the round, when his team players tried frantically to alert the referees and the security that the fan was on the warning track.
The match was arrested for about 10 minutes when the medical staff arrived. The fan was placed on a panel, loaded on a medical cart and transported the stadium to the hospital.

Markwood played for two division II football programs, Walsh University and Wheeling University. He played Wheeling in 2023, appearing in four games, according to the team’s website.

“I really hate what happened tonight,” McCutchen wrote on social networks. “I can’t help but think of this guy, family and friends. I pray this evening for him. Think about his loved ones and show our families a little tightened this evening. I hope he shoots through. God bless you all. Good night.”
