Kavan Markwood, the fan of Pittsburgh Pirates who fell on 20 feet on the PNC warning track last week, spoke for the first time since his horrible accident.
Markwood filed on dirt in the right field after having shot several times in the air during the seventh round of the pirate match against the Chicago Cubs. In addition to the medical staff of the teams and EMS who exhaust themselves to assess Markwood, the entire stadium was amazed by what they witnessed.
The 20 -year -old suffered a broken neck, a collarbone and a back after the accident, but Markwood said he was going “well” despite the long way to coming up.

“I can’t really sleep. I have a lot of back pain,” he told Triblive.
Markwood described his injuries as “all broken”, which also included a swollen hand.
“I think when I come home, I’m just going to put ice on it,” he added.

A gofundme was created by her girlfriend’s mother, Jennifer Phillips, and Markwood told Triblive that he was grateful to all the support he had obtained to help with medical invoices.
Wednesday evening, the GoFundme account collected more than $ 51,000.
Markwood took a big step in its recovery on Monday, walking for the first time.

After the accident, Markwood was urgently transported to the trauma unit at the Algheny General Hospital, where he was in critical condition.
Pittsburgh Public Safety labeled what happened as an accident, while Markwood fans said that he had enthusiastic about a pirate rally during the match and had removed his shirt and poured beer before the fall, according to the Pittsburgh Tribune-Review.
Markwood played for two division II football programs, Walsh University and Wheeling University. He played Wheeling in 2023, appearing in four games, according to the team’s website.

Andrew McCutchen, who struck a double just before the fall of Markwood, sent a prayer to X.
“I really hate what happened tonight,” he wrote. “I can’t help but think of this guy, family and friends. I pray this evening for him. Think about his loved ones and show our families a little tightened this evening. I hope he shoots through. God bless you all. Good night.”
