The Pittsburgh pirates were only a few rounds from the regular season and a bizarre injury on the opening day has already thrown a key into the team’s program.
The interior field player Nick Gonzales played 94 games last season and hit. 270 with an OPS of 0.709. He had to have an impact in his third year with Pittsburgh this season, but these hopes were destroyed against the Miami Marlins on Thursday afternoon.

Gonzales struck a two-point home run during the sixth round of the team’s 5-4 defeat against the Marlins. While the broadcast followed the big surprise above the fence, Gonzales was seen hindered the first base.
After the match, manager Derek Shelton said on Friday that Gonzales had undergone a “unpleasant fracture of the left ankle”. He was placed on the 10 -day injured list.

Gonzales was originally injured when he defeated a bullet in his ankle during training in the spring. The team called in Manuel Valdez de Triple-A Indianapolis to fill the place of the list.
The 25-year-old gonzales can play the second goal and the stop stop. He was selected in the first round of the MLB 2020 draft and made his debut in the major league in 2023. He hit 0.209 with 13 points produced in 35 games in his first season.
Last year, Gonzales had seven circuits and 49 points produced to go with his solid strike in 387 plaques appearances.
