Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif firmly condemned the recent American military strikes on Iranian nuclear installations, calling them a serious violation of international law.

“The Prime Minister expressed a deep concern that American attacks had targeted the facilities under the guarantees of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA),” the statement said. “These attacks constituted a serious violation of international law and the status of the IAEA,” he said.
Sharif also recognized Iran’s right to self -defense under article 51 of the Charter of the United Nations, but stressed the urgent need to return to dialogue and diplomacy.
“The only viable path is through diplomatic commitment,” he said, urging collective efforts to defuse regional tensions. He reiterated the preparation of Pakistan to play a constructive role in promoting peace.
The Prime Minister reaffirmed Pakistan’s “unshakable solidarity” with the Iranian people and the government. He also exerted condolences on loss of life and prayed for the rapid recovery of the wounded.
In response, President Pezeshkian thanked Pakistan for his support and solidarity, including the support of his military leadership. “The two leaders stressed the urgency of forging unity among the ommée at this critical stage,” added the press release.
