PM announces a national expansion of digital portfolios for payments

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif announced on Monday that the scope of digital portfolios would be extended across the country, integrating provincial systems in a coordinated national framework for digital payments.

Speaking during a ceremony to people with exceptional contributions to the success of the Prime Minister’s Ramazan rescue package, the PM said that modern payment methods had considerably improved the transparency and effectiveness of fund transfers, while maintaining the dignity of the beneficiaries.

“Thanks to digital portfolios, 79% of the background funds were transferred transparent and transparent,” said the PM, stressing that the previous system had significant faults that have now been treated with the new digital framework.

He described the plans to ensure that next year, all disbursements would be made digitally, achieving 100% use of funds via modern payment systems. He also noted that the initiative would continue to evolve with provincial governments introduced into the integrated digital payment system.

The secretary of the Benazir income support program, Amir Ahmed Ali, provided a detailed briefing on the Ramazan rescue package and the use of digital wallets. The PM also presented honorary shields to the main officials of the public and private sectors who played a central role in the implementation of the program.
