PM announces the Ramadan package; 4 million households to receive financial assistance

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif announced the Ramadan package, under which 4 million households across the country will receive financial assistance.

According to Express News, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, speaking during the Ramadan Package in the Federal Capital Ceremony, revealed that this year, four million families (around 20 million people) will receive 5,000 rupees per household through a digital portfolio.

He thanked Allah and said: “This year, inflation during Ramadan is lower compared to previous years. The government has allocated a significant amount of 20 billion rupees for the Ramadan package, which will benefit 4 million Pakistani households.”

The Prime Minister also mentioned that last year, the amount allocated was 7 billion rupees, but this year, it was increased by 200% to 20 billion rupees.

The Punjab government launched the “Nigehban Ramazan” project earlier in February to support low -income families by providing 10,000 rupees each to three million deserving households. The distribution started on February 25, facilitated by the Pakistan position.

The Punjab Bank (BOP) in Lahore will issue 500,000 wage orders daily in Pakistan Post, which will be sent as assured letters to eligible families in the province. The complete operation, including reservation, treatment and special delivery, was organized under the supervision of the Director General of Pakistan Post, Sami Ullah Khan.

To ensure a smooth execution of the project, the Punjab government imposed a temporary ban on the leave and the transfer of postal staff until the project completion.

Earlier, the government of Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa (KP) announced the Ramadan and Eid relief packages for deserving families this year.

Lawyer SAIF, a special assistant of the Minister of Information of KP, confirmed that, similar to the previous year, the provincial government will extend the package to support more than a million families throughout the province. Each eligible family will receive 10,000 rupees as part of the rescue effort.

The funds will be transferred through banks and easypaisa transparently before the 15th of Ramadan. The provincial government will cover bank and disbursement costs to ensure that the total amount reaches the beneficiaries.

Meanwhile, the Sacred Moon of the Ramadan 1446 Hijri was not seen anywhere in Pakistan. Consequently, the first fast (Roza) will be observed on Sunday March 2.

Friday, the central committee of Rue-E-Hilal met in Peshawar under the president of President Maulana Abdul Khabeer Azad. After the meeting, the committee held a press conference to announce that the Moon had not been seen in the country, Express News reported.

Various zonal committees for the observation of the Moon also organized meetings across the country with representatives of the meteorological department and Suparco present.
