Islamabad:
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif led the early finalization of industrial policy on Thursday to stimulate production and provide sustainable solutions that the industrial sector is confronted.
Chairing a meeting on industrial development, he stressed that the policy should be prepared in consultation with all the relevant stakeholders.
The Prime Minister said that the equipment of local industries of a skilled workforce and modern technology in accordance with international standards was a higher priority of the government.
During the meeting, recommendations for the development of national industries were presented to the Prime Minister.
Vocational training
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has responsible for aligning all professional and technical training offered through Pakistan with international standards in order to improve the global employability of young people in the country and to stimulate foreign funding.
Chairing a high-level meeting on the operations of the National Professional and Technical Training Commission (NAVTTC), the Prime Minister underlined the need for accredited training programs on a global scale to strengthen Pakistan’s qualified workforce and increase his request on the international markets, said a press release from the Prime Minister’s office.
NAVTTC officials informed the Prime Minister of Recent Initiatives, including the cartography of the country’s professional institutions and the activation of the national technical and professional training data management system.

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif held a farewell meeting on Thursday with the outgoing national director of the World Bank in Pakistan, Najy Benhassine.
During the meeting, the Prime Minister expressed the best wishes for Najy Benhassine and prayed for his health and his success.
“You played a central role in strengthening the partnership between Pakistan and the World Bank, for which we are grateful,” said the Prime Minister speaking to Benhassine.
