PM goes to Qatar for the Arab-Islamic Emergency Summit in Palestine

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif will leave for Qatar on September 15 to attend the Arab-Islamic Emergency Summit in Doha. A press release from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (FO) said on Saturday.

The summit, co -spared by Pakistan, was called in response to recent Israeli air strikes on Doha and deteriorate alarming in Palestine and degenerating the Israeli aggression in Gaza and West Bow.

According to FO’s declaration, the summit will bring together managers and senior officials from the Organization of Member States of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) which will deliberate on the regional crisis and formulate a joint strategy.

“The summit reflects the urgency, felt through the Muslim world in the light of the Israeli strikes and tries to force the Palestinians by force,” said FO.

A preparatory session of foreign ministers for heads of state is scheduled for September 14 before the summit. The Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs, Senator Ishaq Dar, will represent Pakistan in ministerial talks.

FO also noted that Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif visited DOHA earlier on September 11, where he met Qatari leaders and expressed the solidarity and support of Pakistan.

“Pakistan firmly condemns the Israeli aggression against Qatar and other states of the region and reaffirms its commitment to regional peace, security and sovereignty of its partners,” added the office of foreigners.

Islamabad reiterated its firm position on the question of Palestine and called for an immediate end to hostilities by dialogue.
