Signs of potential thaw in the country’s tense political landscape emerged on Saturday while Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has extended a dialogue offer in Pakistan Tehreek-E-insaf (PTI). In a brief but significant exchange during a session of the National Assembly, the president of the PTI, the lawyer Gohar Ali Khan, replied with an answer in a word full of hope: "Hallah". According to parliamentary sources, the informal conversation took place during the Na session when Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif went to Barrister Gohar, shook his hand and started a direct conversation.
"Sitting us and let’s talk. Dialogue is the only solution to our problems," The Prime Minister would have been cited. "I have already said it, and I repeat: we should speak."
Barrister Gohar, in response, kept it short but positive: "Hallah". Sources indicate that this exchange took place shortly before a critical decision concerning the reserved seats, which has become a focal point in the current political confrontation. Although the meeting was informal, it is considered in political circles as a serious and significant development. It should be noted that this is not the first time that the PM Shehbaz reported the opening to talks. In a speech prior to the National Assembly, he had declared, "For the good of the country, all parties must meet and speak. Political differences can and must be resolved by dialogue."
After the interaction on Saturday, the journalists asked for an official comment from the lawyer Gohar outside the NA, but he refused to answer. However, the initiates of the PTI confirmed that the Prime Minister’s offer will be sent to the founder of the incarcerated party, Imran Khan, who remains the main decision -maker to find out if the party will carry out the negotiations.
