Islamabad:
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif offered a “sincere tribute” to the foreign Pakistanis, the funding of funds sent by which reflect a lasting link with their homeland – a bond of trust, a commitment and a generational responsibility.
In a statement published at International Day of Family Solds, he said that the government continues to work tirelessly to attract foreign direct investments and develop an export base to guarantee long -term economic stability.
On this trip, he said, the funding of funds played a crucial role, considerably strengthening our exchange reserves. According to the PM, the Pakistani funds abroad have always been the cornerstone of our national economy.
“With more than 9 million Pakistanis living abroad, mainly in the Gulf, in Europe, in North America and elsewhere.
“Our diaspora remains deeply linked to their roots. Their financial contributions are not only an expression of love and responsibility towards their families, but also a powerful pillar supporting the economic resilience of Pakistan,” he added.
He noted that during the current financial year, foreign compatriots delivered a record of $ 34.9 billion, marking an increase of 28.8% compared to the previous year. In May 2025 alone, the country received $ 3.7 billion in funding, reflecting an increase of 13.7% compared to May of the previous year.
“These historical figures are a will not only for the hard work and the loyalty of our diaspora, but also of their growing confidence in the economic policies of the government.”
He declared that this trust strengthens the government’s determination to redouble efforts for the Renaissance and the growth of our economy. “Let us renew our collective commitment to work hand in hand with our diaspora, our development partners and all stakeholders to overcome our economic challenges and inaugurate a new era of investment, prosperity and national progress,” he said.
