Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif urged the nation on Sunday to make dedicated efforts in accordance with the principles of quid-e-azam unity, faith and discipline to realize the dream of making Pakistan a prosperous and providence state.
The Prime Minister, in his television video message on Pakistan day, thanked the Almighty and expressed his gratitude to the ancestors, notably Quaid-Ezam Muhammad Ali Jinnah, Allama Iqbal and others, whose forecasting and wise leadership led to the creation of Pakistan as a separate inner country.
He declared that the Pakistani resolution, which was adopted on March 23, 1940, testified to the unshakable commitment of the ancestors to the cause of independence.
The Prime Minister said that the Pakistan flag symbolized the unwavering resolution and struggle of our ancestors during the Pakistani movement.
“Today, Pakistan is a free and sovereign nation, for which we are grateful for all-powerful,” he added.
He appreciated the contributions of the armed forces of Pakistan, industries, education sector and sportsmen who made their mark on the world scene and bringing renown to the country with Parliament, the judiciary and the executive also fulfilling their constitutional duties.
He said that, as a result of tireless efforts, the government had reached economic stability and that the process of institutional reforms and structural changes were underway.
Prime Minister Shehbaz also praised the courage of the Armed Forces of Pakistan, the police, the Rangers guards and the police for their continuous fight against terrorism.
“Let us go to follow the principles of unity, faith and discipline, as the Quaid-Ezam have, and to work together to build a large, developed and oriented towards well-being Pakistan,” he noted.
