PM is record textile exports of 9.38%, cites industry resilience

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif congratulated Pakistan’s textile sector for reached a record of $ 13.613 billion (around 3,793 billion rupees) in export in the first nine months of the current year – an increase of 9.38% compared to the same period last year.

According to data from Pakistan Bureau of Statistics (PBS), this growth highlights the resilience of the textile industry and its continuous role as skeleton of the country’s export economy.

The Prime Minister praised both the government’s economic policies and the tireless efforts of the private sector in the motivation of this progress.

March 2025 alone recorded $ 2.64 billion (around 737 billion rupees) in global exports – a monthly and annual increase.

Textile exports during the month increased by 6.27%, highlighting a positive dynamic of commercial performance.

The main export categories included knitting, ready -to -use clothing, bed wear and cotton fabric, the reaffirmation of the competitive edge of Pakistan on the world textile markets.

In a press release, PM Sharif noted: “This remarkable achievement reflects the effectiveness of our economic strategy and the dedication of our industrial actors. The government remains determined to create a friendly environment, encourage investment and maintain export growth. ”

He added that the continuous increase in exports and other positive indicators is the result of close collaboration in the public government sector. “Our objective is to establish a model of sustainable growth which ensures constant economic progress and creates jobs,” he said.

Total exports from July 2024 to March 2025 amounted to 24.7 billion dollars (around 6,892 billion rupees), up 7.82% in annual shift, pointing out more economic recovery and export diversification.
