Islamabad:
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif launched 20 billion Ramazan rupees on Saturday for four million families deserving across the country, benefiting around 20 million people.
Addressing the launching ceremony, the Prime Minister said that a total of four million deserving families comprising approximately two crores of people would receive a relief from this package which would be distributed in the first ten days of the sacred month.
Each family through digital wallets would receive 5,000 rupees, he said, expressing their satisfaction that the price increase had been reduced this year compared to the previous figures of Ramazan.
“This year, an amount of 20 billion rupees was allocated for this purpose. The amount of relief last year was 7 billion rupees,” he added.
The Prime Minister also welcomed all the authorities and institutions concerned, including the ministries, the State Bank of Pakistan, Nadra, BISP and the technological companies that have worked day and night to design a digital mechanism. The federal government’s initiative would benefit all parts of the country thanks to a well-designed digital system, he added.
He also expressed his gratitude to foreign partners for their partnership and support in this noble cause and appreciated their commitment and their precious contributions.
The Prime Minister said billions of redheads from the poor nation had been blocked in dispute for years and expressed government resolution to obtain rapid decisions on 500 billion rupees in instance before various courts. He said corruption was treated with iron hands.
During the mandate of their previous interim government, the banks had made profits on the fluctuation of dollar rates and obtained orders for the suspension of the court when the government introduced legislation in this regard.
Referring to a decision by the recent Sindh High Court, he said that 23 billion rupees had been recovered from the disposal of a suspension case.
The Prime Minister described the corruption of the “Worse” Public Service Stores Society and said it was privatized, ending public agonies with a very proactive digital system like the one that has just launched.
He also reiterated to close the entities of other governments that have undergone losses. The Prime Minister expressed his deep sorrow in the face of a terrorist attack on Maulana Hamidul Haq to Madrassa Haqqania in which Maulana Haq had embraced martyrdom.
He said that Madrassa Haqqania was a renowned center for Islamic studies, and that yesterday’s terrorist incident was heartbreaking and very condemnable.
The Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa government would immediately bring the authors to book, he said, adding in 2018, terrorism was eliminated from the country, and in this fight, around 80,000 Pakistanis had stated their lives, including the officers and the Jawans and all the segments of the company.
Unfortunately, he said that the specter had raised his head lately and that everyone knew the reasons. With the unrivaled sacrifices of the security forces and the support of the nation, they would forever eliminate terrorism and would not rest before its full eradication, he added.
The Minister of Industries and Production Rana Tanveer Hussain, in his remarks, said that the program had been sanctioned in twenty days during which all the competent authorities played an important role, allowing them to launch the initiative during the sacred month.
He said the infallible mechanism would ensure rapid transfer of the amount to 4 million families deserving throughout the country.
In addition, a total of 600 stands were installed at Tehsil level to provide sugar at a subsidized RS130 kg price.
