Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif with Marshal Syed Asim Munir met Chinese President Xi Jinping and Russian President Vladimir Putin separately in Beijing on Tuesday in a decision that highlights a carefully designed approach to Pakistan, seeking mutually beneficial links with all the great powers.
Shehbaz is in China where he attended the Summit more of the Cooperation Organization (SCO). His meeting with President XI and President Putin, the two powerful world leaders, took place in the space of a few hours.
In the morning, Prime Minister Shehbaz, who was joined by the Minister of Foreign Affairs Ishaq Dar, the Minister of the Interior Mohin Naqvi, the Minister of Information Atta Tarar as well as the Army chief, held a detailed meeting with President XI and his delegation.
The meeting which took place in the great hall of the Pekin people was considered significant in the context of the ongoing geostrategic developments, because Pakistan relations with the United States have undergone in recent months, while Delhi’s ties of Washington-New Washington have experienced last months.
In this context, India tries to reset links with China and, on the other hand, there are murmurs that the proximity of Pakistan with the United States could throw a shadow on Islamabad-Beijing cooperation. But Tuesday’s meeting dismissed these speculations.
During the meeting, the two parties reaffirmed their iron partnership and promised to further deepen their cooperation. Prime Minister Shehbaz continued saying that no one could shake the strong link between Pakistan and China.
An official reading of the Chinese Ministry of Foreign Affairs said that President Xi noted that China and Pakistan share a resilient link, a fraternal link and also a link based on trust and common values - a friendly friendship that has been forged by historical twists and turns and has become stronger over time.
“While transformations once in a century take place more quickly in the world, a solid Chinese-Pakistani relationship is vital for regional peace and development,” said President XI, according to the Chinese Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
XI said that the two parties should accelerate the construction of an even closer Chinese-Pakistani community with a common future in the new era, in order to provide greater advantages to both peoples and to give an example to build a community with a common future between neighboring countries. XI stressed that China supports Pakistan in maintaining unity, focusing on development and improving national force.
China is ready to work with Pakistan to build the Chinese-Pakistani economic corridor 2.0 and improve the Chine-Pakistan free trade agreement, and intensify cooperation in industries, agriculture and mining, in order to stimulate the local capacity of Pakistan for development.
China supports Pakistan’s efforts to combat terrorism and hopes Pakistan will take solid and effective measures to ensure the safety and safety of Chinese personnel, projects and institutions in Pakistan, to create a safe environment for bilateral cooperation.
The two parties should strengthen strategic communication, implement the global development initiative, the global security initiative, the global civilization initiative and the global governance initiative, take up common challenges and maintain international equity and justice.
Shehbaz congratulated China for the 80th anniversary of the victory of the Chinese people’s war of resistance against Japanese aggression, and noted that the central role of the Communist Party of China in the world fight against fascism has changed the course of the history of China and the world.
“The Pakistani-Chinese friendship that has taken root in the hearts of more than 200 million Pakistani, and each generation will remember the altruistic support of China,” he said. “No force can shake this unbreakable link.”
The Prime Minister said that under the main leadership of President XI, China has achieved remarkable economic and social progress, withdrew the Chinese people from poverty and improved the well-being of the people.
At the same time, China also shares opportunities with other developing countries thanks to cooperation on the belt and the road, gaining world praise and winning the hearts and minds of people.
The Prime Minister said that Pakistan is committed according to the principles “only one China” and is eager to strengthen friendly ties with China and to advance cooperation in various fields to ensure supported progress in Pakistani-Chinese relations.
“Pakistan will not leave any non -returned stone to protect Chinese staff, the country’s projects and institutions. The global governance initiative proposed by President XI is of great importance for world peace, development and stability. Pakistan fully supports and actively promote this initiative,” said the Prime Minister.
Taking advantage of the opportunity, the Prime Minister renewed his most cordial invitation to President Xi Jinping to undertake an official visit to Pakistan next year, when the two countries celebrate the 75th anniversary of the creation of Pakistani-Chinese diplomatic links.
Meanwhile, Prime Minister Shehbaz and his other members of the delegation met Russian President Putin. During the meeting, Shehbaz noted that the two countries made sincere efforts to promote bilateral links, in particular in the fields of trade and trade.
Following these efforts, bilateral trade experienced a significant increase last year. He stressed that importing Pakistan oil from Russia has contributed to this growth. The Prime Minister expressed his confidence that Pakistani-Russian relations were on an ascending trajectory and moved in the right direction.
He mentioned that the two nations have signed protocols to improve cooperation in key sectors such as agriculture, iron and steel, energy and transport.
In his remarks, Russian President Putin said Pakistan had always been and remained a traditional Russia partner in Asia. He stressed the importance of expanding trade between the two countries.
President Putin also noted that Pakistan and Russia collaborated at the inter -enclosure level and on international platforms. He extended the invitation to Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif to attend the next meeting of OCS of the SCO, scheduled for Moscow in November.
The Prime Minister accepted the invitation. President Putin also expressed his sincere condolences to the inhabitants of Pakistan on the losses caused by recent floods.
During his stay in China, Shehbaz will join several other world leaders to attend the greatest military parade in Beijing to commemorate the 80th anniversary of the victory of the Chinese People’s War of the Resistance against Japanese aggression and the world anti -fascist war on Wednesday (today).
