Karachi:
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has given fire sheets to publish a special development package to solve the main Karachi problems. The package will be announced during its planned visit to the city. The package can reach 10 billion rupees at 50 billion rupees or more.
Federal government officials revealed that the management of MQM-P, a key ally of the federal government, and the Governor of Sindh, Kamran Khan Tessori, had informed the Prime Minister of Karachi issues in previous meetings. They had asked the Prime Minister to provide a special development set for the city.
The Allies informed the Prime Minister of Karachi’s problems in detail and underlined the need for a special development package for the city, for which the green signal would have been given.
As part of the packaging, projects will be formulated for the infrastructure of the city, water supply, wastewater, health, the environment and other problems. The federal government will consult the Governor of Sindh, MQM-P, and the provincial government, as well as all stakeholders, to finalize the package.
A coordination, work and implementation committee will soon be set up under the chairmanship of the Federal Minister of Planning Ahsan Iqbal for this purpose. All stakeholders, including the Governor of Sindh, MQM-P and provincial government, will be part of the committee.
The official announcement of the Prime Minister’s development package for Karachi is expected soon.
The Governor of the Sindh said that he and the management of MQM-P asked the Prime Minister to provide a development set for Karachi for various projects. The Prime Minister has cooperation for solving Karachi problems.
