Lahore:
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif led an early finalization of the 2025 electric vehicle (EV) policy in consultation with all stakeholders and its immediate presentation before the federal cabinet.
He published the directives while chairing a high -level meeting on Saturday to examine the political framework for the promotion of the electric vehicle industry and the use of the country.
During the meeting, the 2025 electric vehicle policy project was completely discussed. The Prime Minister underlined the need for rapid and priority measures to promote electric motorcycles, scooters, three-wheelers, cars and buses through Pakistan.
He also underlined the importance of setting up load infrastructure, including charging stations and battery exchange facilities, to support the expansion of the EV ecosystem.
In addition, Prime Minister Shehbaz said the industries concerned should be facilitated to improve the local manufacturing capacity of electric two-wheelers and three wheels.
The meeting was followed by the federal ministers Rana Tanveer Hussain, Ahmad Khan Cheema, Muhammad Aurangzeb, the special assistant Haroon Akhtar and other senior government officials.
Saad Rafiq
The former federal mminister and the chief of the PML-NN Khawaja Saad Raique called on Saturday Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif.
During the meeting, Rafale congratulated the Prime Minister for having presented a federal budget adapted to the public, describing it as a positive step towards economic stability and the essential relief for the people.
The two leaders also organized a detailed discussion on the current political situation in the country, reaffirming their commitment to meet national challenges by unity and democratic dialogue.
Empowerment of young people
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has reiterated that providing young people in education, skills and quality employment possibilities is one of the main priorities of the government.
He made these remarks at a meeting with the youth program of the President of the Prime Minister, Rana Mashhood Ahmed Khan, who called him on Saturday.
