PM Orders Probe after the second attack on Mabarak Zeb’s house

A rocket attack was carried out on the residence of the National Assembly (MNA) and special assistant to the Prime Minister, Mubarak Zeb Khan, in the Bajaur district on Friday evening – the second type incident in one month – prompted Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif to order an immediate investigation and the arrest of the officials.

According to Express News, unknown attackers pulled a rocket on the MNA house around 1 a.m., which exploded near the main door. Although no victim was reported, the explosion caused partial damage to the entrance to the residence.

District police officer (DPO) Bajaur, Waqas Rafiq, confirmed the incident and said that an investigation had been launched. “The police teams have launched immediate investigations,” he added.

In an article on X (formerly Twitter), Khan said: “Again, the disbelievers launched a rocket attack on my house under the cover of darkness. Alhamdulillah, there was no loss of life.”

Prime Minister Shehbaz, in a statement on Saturday, strongly condemned the attack and expressed his relief that no life was lost, Radio Pakistan reported.

He ordered the law enforcement organizations to investigate the incident without delay and to ensure that people behind the attack are brought to justice.

In addition, the MNA has published a strong message, saying that such “loose acts” would not dissuade them from serving the people of the region.

Khan said the attack brought the characteristics of Pakistan forbidden from Tehrik-I-Taliban (TTP), which also claimed a previous attack on his residence on May 14.

At the time, an improvised explosive device (IED) had been planted at the main door of the house, which was destroyed in the resulting explosion. Khan noted that threatening calls and messages from international numbers had been received in recent days.

“The involvement of an outfit prohibited near the Pak-Afghan border, potentially with the support of certain local elements, cannot be excluded,” he said.

Stressing the possible motivations behind the attacks, he said that he was determined to use all the resources available for the elevation of Bajaur, and such actions aimed to sabotage the current development efforts in the region. “They contacted us through an international number and have put threats to stop development activities. But we are not afraid. Bajaur’s development will not stop. ”

“We have confronted such elements in the past and will continue to do so. We will not retreat from our mission to serve the inhabitants of this region,” he added.
