PM orders the FBR to set up an assistance line to help the declarants

Islamabad:

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif said on Monday that expanding the tax base and the reduction in the poor tax burden was among the main priorities of the government.

He presided over a meeting to examine the progress on the digitization of the Federal Board of Return (FBR), the implementation of a system based on artificial intelligence (AI) and other reforms.

Assating the availability of simple income tax declarations in Ourdou, the Prime Minister said that a line of assistance should be established to help the declaration of income declarations and digital invoicing should also be launched in Ourdou. “In tax reforms, the emphasis should remain on the convenience of the ordinary man,” he added.

The Prime Minister has ordered that validation of third parties be ensured for all FBR reforms in order to maintain transparency. He said that for the convenience of the public, income statements have been made extremely easy by making them digital, concise and linked to a centralized database. He said employees will benefit most from the new simplified income statements.

The Prime Minister said that an public awareness campaign should be launched on the ease of income tax declarations so that more and more people can produce their declarations under the new system.

He also said that small and medium -sized enterprises should receive special support to join the digital billing system.

Digital economy

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif Monday said that the government’s absolute priority was to transparency the economy through the digitization system.
