PM requires the yield of Pakistani citizens

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif Thursday, appreciating the “worthy” participation of Pakistani nationals in Sumud Gaza Flatilla, demanded their return when they were intercepted on their way to Gaza to provide humanitarian aid.

The Prime Minister, in an article on X, appreciated the Pakistani nationals, notably Mushtaq Ahmed Khan, Mazhar Saeed Shah, Wajahat Ahmed, Dr Osama Riaz, Ismail Khan, Syed Aziz Nizami and Fahad Ishtiaq, among other Pakistanis, who took part in this great humanitarian mission in accordance with the principles of human compassion.

“This initiative represents the aspirations that love the peace of the Pakistani people, their struggle for justice and their minds to help those who need it,” he said.

He said the Government of Pakistan supported the principles of respect for human life, safe access and uninterrupted humanitarian aid.

“The government of Pakistan … firmly demands the return of its citizens while praying and seeking their security, their dignity and their rapid return to the fatherland,” he added.

Earlier in another article on X, Prime Minister Shehbaz firmly condemned the vile attack on Israeli forces on the Flotilla de Sumud Gaza, transporting more than 450 humanitarian workers from 44 countries on a mission to take humanitarian aid in Gaza.

“This barbarism must end. Peace must have a chance and humanitarian aid must reach those who need it,” he wrote.

He expressed hope and prayed for the security of all those who were illegally apprehended by Israeli forces and called for their immediate release.

“Their crime was to help the unfortunate Palestinian,” said the Prime Minister.

Pakistan has unequivocally condemned the interception by Israel of Flotilla Global Sumud, a vital humanitarian mission embodying global solidarity and moral resolution.

In a statement, the spokesman for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs said: “Israeli actions are a serious violation of international law”.

He said: “On September 16, 2025, Pakistan, alongside 15 nations, published a joint declaration expressing his concern for the safety of the flotilla.”

“The security and well-being of Pakistani citizens aboard the flotilla is of paramount importance,” he said, “as Pakistan does not recognize Israel, we work closely with international partners in the region to guarantee their immediate release and ensure their security.”

He said Pakistan continued to coordinate with the Allied nations to protect its nationals, reaffirming its commitment to their rapid and safe return.

President

President Asif Ali Zardari Thursday condemned the Israeli assault against Sumud Gaza Flatilla.

In a press release, the president paid tribute to the bravery and humanitarianism of Pakistani citizens on the flotilla.

He said the attack on the assistance mission was a serious violation of human rights and international laws.

He called on the international community to guarantee uninterrupted aid to the citizens of Gaza.

He expressed the best wishes for the security and immediate return of the Pakistanis present on the flotilla.

He said Pakistan will always be held with the oppressed Palestinian people.
