Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif arrived in Quetta on Saturday for a day visit to attend a Jirga Tribal and examine the global situation of public order in Balutchistan.
The Prime Minister’s visit aims to align political, tribal and administrative efforts to continue peace initiatives in the province.
According to officials, the acting governor of Balutchistan Abdul Khaliq Achakzai, the chief minister Mir Sarfraz Bugti, and other senior officials welcomed the Prime Minister upon his arrival.
The visit is important in the context of direct consultations with provincial leadership concerning security and stability.
Prime Minister Shehbaz will participate in a special special Jirga, where tribal and political leaders of various Balutchistan districts were invited.
The Jirga will discuss the current security challenges of the province and will explore local confidence strengthening measures to improve peace.
A large number of tribal leaders, provincial ministers, assembly members and senior officials should attend.
Government sources indicate that the Prime Minister seeks to engage all stakeholders in a shared vision of sustainable peace, incorporating their suggestions and concerns in national policy.
During the visit, the Prime Minister will also report the victims of the recent bombing of Surab to find out about his health and express his solidarity.
