Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif arrived in Ankara during an official two -day visit to Turkiye at the invitation of Turkish President Rece Tayyip Erdogan, Radio Pakistan reported.

When he arrived at the airport, he was received by the Minister of Defense of Turkiye, Yashar Guller. The visit highlights the deepening of diplomatic and economic links between Pakistan and Turkiye.

During his stay, the Prime Minister will hold a meeting-to-head meeting with President Erdogan. The two leaders should discuss a wide range of questions, including improving bilateral cooperation, expanding commercial and investment opportunities, and the fight against key regional and global developments.

In addition to its political commitments, the PM will also meet Turkish investors and commercial delegations to promote economic collaboration between the two countries.

The Prime Minister is accompanied by the Darrier Ishaq Dar, the Minister of Information Attaullah Tarar, and a special assistant on foreign affairs Tariq Fatemi.

The visit takes place in the wake of the visit of Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan in Islamabad in February, where the two leaders co -chaired the 7th session of the High Level Strategic Cooperation Council (HLSCC).

During the February session, Pakistan and Turkiye signed 24 soft, reaffirming their common commitment to strengthen bilateral links in several sectors. A major culmination of the meeting was the agreement to increase bilateral trade to $ 5 billion.

The main areas of cooperation described in the agreements included an expansion of the goods trade agreement, increased collaboration in the defense sector and efforts to attract Turkish investments in Pakistan.

The two parties have also agreed to operationalize the Islamabad-Tehran-isanbul commercial corridor and to deepen cooperation in fields such as energy, finance and digital trade.
