Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif visited the technology park under construction in Islamabad on Thursday and expressed his dissatisfaction with the slowness of the work, ordering the authorities to accelerate the construction process and ensure its completion within the period originally stipulated.
According to a press release published by the Prime Minister’s office, the first first stressed the strategic importance of the project for the economic and technological development of Pakistan. He stressed that the installation must comply with international standards, both in infrastructure and in services, in order to fulfill its role provided in the progress of the country’s digital economy.
“All stakeholders must accelerate their efforts to finish the technological park at the earliest,” said Prime Minister Shehbaz during the visit. “This project is essential for the growth of the IT sector of Pakistan, the creation of jobs for our young people and the global progress of the national economy.”

The officials informed the Prime Minister of Scale and the Characteristics of the Project. The installation includes two levels of basement, a ground floor and nine upper floors. It is designed to house office spaces, an incubation center, a business support center, research and development laboratories, a level III data center and an auditorium. A provision was also made for a parking space to accommodate up to 1,200 vehicles.
During the briefing, it was pointed out that the technological park should play a key role in creating employment possibilities for young people in the country, strengthening the global competitiveness of Pakistan in the IT sector and the contribution to sustainable economic growth. The project also aims to fill the digital divide and provide a platform for innovation, entrepreneurship and research.
The Prime Minister reiterated his government’s commitment to support the technology industry and has asked strict membership in deadlines. He called for increased coordination between all the departments concerned and ordered that regular stage reports are subject to the Prime Minister’s office.
“There is no room for delays in such important national projects,” he said. “We are investing in the future of Pakistan. A advanced technological park not only will attract foreign investments, but will also help to exploit the potential of our talented young people. ”
