Islamabad:
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif invited Turkish companies to increase their investment footprint in Pakistan and share their expertise in structural reforms, economic growth and the development of the country.
He made these remarks at a meeting with Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan and Defense Minister Yasar Güler, who called him to Islamabad on Wednesday.
In an official press release, the PM underlined the need for concerted efforts of the two countries to improve bilateral trade, aimed at achieving the mutually agreed target of $ 5 billion. He reaffirmed Pakistan’s commitment to further strengthen cooperation with Turkey in key sectors, including trade, investment, technology and defense.
Sharif also underlined the long -standing fraternal links between Pakistan and Turkiye, which are deeply rooted in shared history, culture and mutual respect. He has expressed his satisfaction with the positive trajectory of bilateral relations, stressing that the two nations have made significant progress in recent years.

Recalling his interactions with Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, the PM reaffirmed Pakistan’s determination to transform Pak-Turkiye relations into a strategic partnership in the near future.
Sharif welcomed the next meeting of the mixed committee, co-countryized by Dar-Prime Minister Ishaq Dar and the Turkish FM FM Fidan, expressing the hope that the meeting would still accelerate bilateral relations and promote cooperation in various fields.
While reiterating the solid support that the two countries continue to offer each other, the PM has stressed the need for closer coordination, in particular in light of the rapidly evolving regional and global situation, by particularly emphasizing the current crises in Gaza and Iran.
In closing, he once again expressed his deepest gratitude to the Turkish nation and its leaders for their constant support in Pakistan, especially during recent tensions with India.

Earlier, during a joint press conference, Dar and Fidan reaffirmed their commitment to deepen bilateral cooperation in the key sectors, including defense, trade, energy, culture, education and infrastructure, both countries aimed at increasing bilateral trade to $ 5 billion.
During the press conference, the two officials expressed their satisfaction with the progress in the progress of 12 joint committees under the High Level Strategic Cooperation Council (HLSCC). DAR stressed that, after the February HLSCC session, a mixed commission would soon be created to monitor the progress of these committees.
