Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and the President of the United Arab Emirates (Water) Sheikh Mohamed Bin Zayed Al Nahyan had discussions on Tuesday to explore the means to improve bilateral ties and promote mutual interests.
The meeting, held in Qasr Al SHATI in Abu Dhabi, was followed by the chief of staff of the army, General Syed Asim MUNIR. The leaders have focused on deepening cooperation in the economic, commercial and development sectors, areas that align themselves with the vision of the two nations for sustainable growth and prosperity.
Discussions also highlighted the importance of the World Summit of Governments in the formation of world governance trends. The summit offers usable strategies to help governments better prepare for global transformations and accelerate development.
The two parties exchanged points of view on regional and international issues, in particular developments in the Middle East, stressing the importance of collaboration efforts to ensure long-term peace and stability in the region.
Prime Minister Shehbaz also organized a series of high-level meetings with leaders from Sri Lanka, Bosnia and Herzegovina, and Kuwait, to discuss the improvement of bilateral relations in a variety of sectors, including trade, Defense and regional cooperation.
The Prime Minister met the Sri Lankan President Anura Kumara Dissanayake on the sidelines of the World Government Summit in Dubai, marking their first interaction in person.
The leaders discussed the strengthening of links in trade, defense and education, and agreed to explore new cooperation opportunities. They also highlighted the historical ties between the two nations, with Dissanayake recalling the final of the 1996 Cricket World Cup in Lahore.
“We are committed to increasing high -level exchanges and relying on goodwill between our countries,” said Prime Minister Shehbaz.

In addition, the PM met Ĺželjka Cvijanovic, president of the presidency of Bosnia and Herzegovina, to discuss the improvement of commercial and economic links.
Prime Minister Shehbaz expressed support for Bosnia and Herzegovina and membership of the European Union and its potential as a regional center, offering new opportunities for Pakistani goods in the Balkans and Europe ‘East.
“I can’t wait to promote relationships between our countries more, especially in trade and investment,” said Cvijanovic.

The Prime Minister also met Kuwed Prime Minister Sheikh Ahmad Abdullah al-Ahmad al-Sabah to discuss the expansion of bilateral cooperation. The two leaders reaffirmed their commitment to a solid economic partnership and examined regional issues, including the continuous situation in Gaza.
“The ceasefire in Gaza must be fully implemented immediately and humanitarian aid for the people of Palestine must be accelerated,” they agreed.
The meetings highlighted Pakistan’s continuous efforts to improve its diplomatic and economic relations with the main global and regional players, aimed at sustainable development and peace.
