Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif ordered a third-party audit of the first Minister Ramadan Rewards 2025 to ensure the transparency of the distribution of funds, according to a statement from the Prime Minister’s office.

The decision was made at a review meeting chaired by the Prime Minister, where those responsible informed it of the progress of the rescue package.

Managers informed the meeting that 63% of eligible beneficiaries have already received financial assistance, with detailed documents available for all disbursements.

In total, 2,224 employees were responsible for supervising the implementation of the package.

In addition, more than 1.5 million beneficiaries have been contacted by phone to facilitate the process.

The Prime Minister reaffirmed that the rescue program covers all of Pakistan, including Gilgit-Baltistan and Azad Jammu and Cashmire, without discrimination.

Shehbaz praised Pakistan’s State Bank, Nadra and technological companies to ensure that a secure and efficient digital portfolio system to distribute funds. He ordered that this model is also adopted for other government well-being initiatives.

In addition, he asked telecommunications companies and banks to improve their public awareness campaigns concerning the program and to submit a full report on their efforts.

The meeting was followed by government figures, notably the Federal Minister of National Food Security Rana Tanveer Hussain, the Minister of Economic Affairs Ahsan Iqbal, the Minister of Information Atta Tarar, and IT Minister Shaza Fatima, as well as officials of Nadra, PTA and private sector partners involved in the program.
