PM Shehbaz promises to relieve the ordinary man in the upcoming budget

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif said on Friday that providing relief to the ordinary man in the upcoming budget was the superior priority of his government.

Chairing a meeting on the preparation of the 2025-26 federal budget, the Prime Minister said that all resources will be used to reduce the financial difficulties of the poor and the middle class.

The Prime Minister has ordered that the coming budget be prepared by emphasizing the sustainable growth focused on exports and duly granting projects to promote industries and increase production.

The budget should also be largely focused on creating jobs, agriculture, information technologies, small and medium-sized businesses and the housing sector, he added.

The Prime Minister said that the government and the private sector were to work together for national development and prosperity.

By calling public-private partnerships and the vocational training of young people among government priorities, Prime Minister Shehbaz noted that positive results emerged from reforms in the government’s power sector, because the reduction in electricity prices for industries would help promote industry and production.

He added that automation and digitization were promoted to provide transparency in the government system and facilitate business world and investors.

He said the government would continue the rights process to reduce the size of the federal government over the next financial year.

During the briefing, the participants were informed that the consultations of the private sector on the preparation of the budget were underway for three months, in addition to the advisory sessions with the stakeholders of various sectors.

The meeting was also informed that the five-year commercial policy framework for 2025-30 and the electronic commerce 2.0 would soon be completed, and a rationalization plan for prices was also in preparation.

The delegation of businessmen and experts expressed confidence in government economic policies and presented their suggestions that the Prime Minister welcomed and led the inclusion of proposals that can be feasible in the budget.
