PM Shehbaz reaffirms the commitment to strengthen links with the United Kingdom

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has reaffirmed Pakistan’s commitment to further strengthen his relations with the United Kingdom in several sectors, including trade, investment, education and exchanges of people.

He expressed these points of view at a meeting with the British parliamentarian under the state subsecretary to faith, communities and resettlement, Lord Wajid Khan, who called him Thursday in Islamabad.

The Prime Minister recognized the positive role of the British Pakistani diaspora by promoting stronger bilateral ties, describing them as a vital bridge between the two countries.

He also responded to his best wishes to His Majesty King Charles III and British Prime Minister Keir Starmer.

Prime Minister Sharif appreciated Lord Khan’s continuous efforts to improve Pakistani-UK relations and explore new collaboration opportunities.

During the meeting, Lord Wajid Khan informed the Prime Minister of his recent commitments and initiatives aimed at further strengthening bilateral cooperation between Pakistan and the United Kingdom.

In addition, Lord Khan held a meeting with the Minister of the Interior of Pakistan, Mohin Naqvi.

The Minister of State inside Talal Chaudhry, the British High Commissioner Jane Marriott and the interior secretary Khurram Agha were also present.

The Minister of the Interior, Naqvi, underlined the interest of Pakistan to stimulate cooperation with the United Kingdom in all mutually beneficial sectors.

Lord Khan condemned the recent terrorist attack on the Jaffer Express and exercised condolences to the families of the victims. He recognized the immense sacrifices of Pakistan in the fight against terrorism.
