PM Shehbaz Sharif leaves for Belarus during an official two -day visit

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif left Thursday for an official two -day visit to the Bélarus at the invitation of President Aleksandr Lukashenko.

During the visit, Sharif will hold high -level talks with Lukashenko to examine bilateral cooperation and explore new paths of engagement between the two countries.

Officials claim that the visit should lead to the signing of several agreements to stimulate trade, investment and diplomatic links.

The trip follows a series of recent high -level exchanges, including the 8th session of the joint ministerial commission which was held in February, which paved the way for more in -depth cooperation.

Sharif is accompanied by the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Ishaq Dar, the Minister of Information Attaullah Tarar, a special assistant by Prime Minister Tariq Fatemi and other senior officials.

The Prime Minister’s visit comes less than six months after President Lukashenko’s official trip to Islamabad in November of last year.
