PM Shehbaz to lead Pakistan to Unga 80th Session in New York

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif is expected to lead the Pakistan delegation to the high -level segment of the 80th session of the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA) in New York, scheduled for September 22 to 26, 2025, according to Foreign Office.

The Prime Minister will be accompanied by the Deputy Prime Minister and the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Senator Ishaq Dar, members of the cabinet and senior officials.

In his speech at the General Assembly, the Prime Minister should ask the international community to resolve long -standing situations of the occupation and denial of self -determination in Jammu and Kashmir (Iiojk) and Palestine.

He will put a particular emphasis on the aggravation crisis in Gaza, urging decisive global action to put an end to the suffering of the Palestinian people.

His speech will also articulate Pakistan’s perspective on regional security, climate change, terrorism, Islamophobia and sustainable development.

Beyond the general debate, Prime Minister Sharif will participate in a series of high-level commitments on the sidelines of the session. These include meetings of the United Nations Security Council (USC), a high -level meeting of the Global Development Initiative (GDI) and a special high -level event on climate action.

The PM should also join a limited group of Islamic leaders at a meeting with US President Donald Trump to discuss urgent regional and international peace and security issues.

During his stay, the Prime Minister will hold bilateral talks with several world leaders and senior officials of the UN to exchange opinions on questions of mutual concern.

He will reiterate Pakistan’s determination to work with all UN member states to maintain the United Nations Charter, prevent conflicts, promote peace and promote global prosperity, in particular in the continuous role of Pakistan as a member of the CSNU.
