Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif should leave for China to attend the council of heads of state of Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) to be held in Tianjin.
During his visit from August 30 to September 4, the PM will hold high-level meetings with Chinese President Xi Jinping and Prime Minister Li Qiang to discuss the multifaceted dimensions of Bilateral Pakistani-Chinese cooperation.
Translections will focus on strengthening economic, political and strategic ties between the two countries. As part of the visit, Prime Minister Shehbaz will attend a large military parade in Beijing alongside President XI and other world leaders to mark the 80th anniversary of the World Anti-Fascist War.
He should also engage with the main Chinese commercial figures and business leaders in order to explore the ways to improve bilateral trade, investment and economic collaboration. It will be for the Pakistani-Chinese B2B investment conference in Beijing, highlighting Pakistan’s commitment to promoting deeper economic ties.
This visit is part of the current leadership exchanges between Pakistan and China. It highlights the importance that the two countries attach to further strengthening their “all-seasons strategic cooperative partnership”, reaffirming mutual support on basic issues, advancing phase II of the Chine-Pakistan economic corridor and maintaining regular dialogue on the main regional and global developments.
